I am trying to download all of the files for chapters 11-18, via the link. A login is requested to access the zip file; how do I register for the site?

To view this page, you need to log in to area www.flashvideobook.com on www.flashvideobook.com.

I am registered at the parent site; this membership does not work here.

Please advise.

I'm on chapter 11. when i try to encode your video_import.wmv, i get this message: Failed to load FLV: then it gives the path.

it looks like the FLV is in the folder with the swf, fla and skin, but no movie runs-- blank screen. what am i doing wrong. Thank you.

Hi Pat,
are you sure you're trying to encode the video? I've only ever seen this message when a wrong path has been entered into the FLVplayback component's contentPath parameter.

You could also try using the standalone Flash Video Encoder (it installs alongside Flash), encode the WMV and then point to the resulting FLV.

Really Bizarre! (Internet Explorer)
When I add a flash movie to my web page (plays a video), the HTMLtext link just below the movie works fine-goes to another page.
BUT a row of HTML text links at the bottom of the page DON'T work! They were copied from another page where they did.
When I remove the flash movie, the links work! When I copy the working text link down to the row of non-working text links,
just the working text link (from above) works! I frequently erase the browser history so I am not getting a saved page.

However, after I remove the flash movie (save the page) and reopen the HTML page, I get the IE Dialog Box saying "Information Bar"
"The Information Bar alerts you when IE blocks a pop-up window or file download that might not be safe....." so I click OK,
and now the links at the bottom of the page work! (Information Bar at the top has not been removed, or content allowed)
I don't get this Information Bar dialog box when opening the page with the flash movie in it.

I don't think this is within the scope of your book, but if you have any ideas.....
LOVE your book by the way. Thanks.

Really Bizarre (part 2)
FMS and all content is on my local machine.
I find that the working HTML text link links to a page that also has a flash
movie on it (not a video-but an animation). The row of html text links (bottom of page) that don't work, link to pages that don't have flash movies in them. (???)

So I copied the flash movie into the page(s) for the non-working links,
and now the links work! Well, 4 out of 5 work. One link still doesn't
work. When I open that links page, I get the IE Information Bar that's
blocking the file-but not on the other pages that have the same movie!

This cripples the site-makes it undoable.
May I ask your thoughts?
