Great book guys. By necessity, I'm skipping around a bit but am very pleased so far. Good info and appreciate the case studies.

In the using cue points chapter, the first exercise has us adding a mix of event + several navigation cue points. However, during test movie my playback stops between nav cue point 2 and nav cue point 3. This was my second attempt at the project.

My first attempt had the video playback stop after nav cue point 1. Any ideas on why video playback might arbitrarily stop when a cue point is reached? Thanks Again.

thanks for the feedback! To be honest I have no clue as to why the movie would stop playing once cue points are added - and this is the first time someone has reported this problem.
Can you double check that the timecodes entered are correct, ie you don't specifiy a time that larger than the length of the movie?
Feel free to email your zipped project directory and I'll check it out - stefan AT flashcomguru DOT com

I've got the same issue happening, it stops half way, I downloaded the code from the site, and it stops in both the unfinished and completed versions. Also the image doesn't load in the first version...I'll check the code again and the cuepoints.

PS. I'm psyched you guys used skate footy

image didn't work because I forgot to name the instance, after disabling still didn't work. So, I tried another video file and didn't have a problem without any event cp's or with both - combined event and nav.

hi scott,
so it's now working for you, is that what you meant by your last comment? Maybe the file got corrupted somehow... we obviously went through all examples and made sure they worked before the book went out. I'm sorry if you are having trouble.

Stefan

PS: the skate footage is actually from my friends in Germany, http://www.sevenkay.com if you like to see more :-)

on page 217 in an Author's tip, you talk about using simple actionscript to enable each thumbnail as the video downloads.
where could i fnd that actionscript?
and where does it go: on each button? on a separate actions layer?
thanks!
